Build: Iala is long and lithe like the rest of her family, with well toned sleek muscles.

Hair color/style: Iala has jet black, very thick, smooth hair. She keeps it just below her shoulders, but it's generally plaited back in a french braid.

Eyes: Black, with a slight almond shape to them and long, thick black eye lashes.

Complexion: Dark and darker when she's in the sun. Iala has a round face, though she's not fat in the slightest. She has dimples when she smiles that turn into double dimples when she grins.

Anything you feel would help describe your persona better: (Jewelry, scars, weapons) Iala has a few scars on her knees and elbows. She would be considered a tom-boy and even as an adult, prefers women as bed partners over men.

Habits: Iala cracks her knuckles when she's frustrated or upset.

Personality: Iala is a self-confident woman, believing that anything done, is worth doing well. She is bubbly and gregarious, though her up-beat personality has been dampened somewhat by the tragedy at Fort Weyr and the loss of her weyrmate. She is very much a 'people' person.  She enjoys company, no matter what kind. She has an insatiable curiosity. She is caring and generous. She does, however, have little patience and a short temper. She will bite your head off, given the opportunity, but will usually apologize right after she does. She is somewhat spoiled, being the 'baby' of the family. She can, and will, fall into a much more immature attitude when she isn't getting her way.

Background: Iala was the product of a mating flight. She was, in fact, a total accident. Despite that rocky start, she is as precocious as the next weyrbrat. She was doted on by her mother and older siblings.  She followed both sisters and one brother around, until she got bored.  And bored she got, quickly. It was difficult for anyone to keep up with Iala. She joined in many of her brother's pranks, letting her sisters stick their noses up at such antics. She can lie like nobody's business when it suits her to do so. It was those bright, believable lies that kept her... and her brother out of really deep trouble. She is extremely pleased and proud to be the younger sister of bronzerider M'quel. She'd been told about his impression, but was only 2 turns at the time and does not remember it.

As Iala grew, she was encouraged to find a craft that she liked. Iala refused. She was going to be a dragonrider, like the rest of her family. She could not be persuaded to anything else. She asked permission to stand as being weyrbred on her 12th birthingday. And, as Iala likes to smugly remind everyone, she impressed her first attempt to a medium sized green dragonet named Tembrith.

Weyrlinghood seemed to breeze by for the pair. Iala graduated at the top of her class, just above R'asir of blue Ceroth. She became friends with many in her class and was never devoid of company. Shortly after graduating, right before her brother, M'quel became Weyrleader of
Southern Weyr, Iala was transferred to Fort Weyr. She did her duty as well as the next greenrider and settled in quickly.

Just before she turned 20, she met Kaylonee. The two became close after Kaylonee's blue, Elesith caught Tembrith in a mating flight, and a turn later they were weyrmated. Iala was happy, settled and content.  Until the shakes happened. She was on sweep duty at the time, as she and Kaylonee were in different wings. She came back after Tembrith began to keen wildly. She helped with the evacuation, hoping against hope in finding Kaylonee. She knew Elesith was dead through Tembrith, but still hoped that Kaylonee had survived. She never found her.

Iala evacuated back to Southern Weyr, spent time with her family, and has overcome her grief. She has thrown herself into her duty, but has grown discontent with the current Weyrleader, R'lyn. She now has asked for a transfer to Free Falling, wanting to be back in the north. She's
tired of the sun and heat, and needs a change.

Name: Tembrith

Age: 11

Color: Tembrith is an average sized green. She is a medium grassy green with undertones of blue on her body. Her wings are somewhat lighter, as is her tail, neck and head.

Personality: Tembrith is not flighty, chatty or flirty like so many greens, however, she's not as sombre as some can be either. She's friendly enough, knows her duty and protects her lifemate.
