Habits: Usually taps his fingers in drum patterns while he’s thinking or studying. Loves a hot cup of Klah to start his early morning shifts in the drum tower. Brushing his hair from his eyes.

Hobbies: Often heads out on a small skip when he has a day off. Also loves runner beast riding.

Personality: Orren is a good listener and often offers a friendly ear to the younger apprentices. He doesn’t get angry or frustrated easily and is pretty easy going. However he can often get himself into trouble by being unable to say no. He hasn’t quite learnt how to be assertive and ends up with the worst task or having over committed himself.

Background: Having grown up at Cliffside Sea Hold he entered a drummer apprenticeship later in life having spent two Turns as a beast craft apprentice.

However, he didn’t’ have the same knack as the rest of his relatives and found his niche in drumming. He loved his time in the Drum Tower, and took that responsibility to heart.  When he wasn't at the Tower, he could be found practicing with whatever instrument he could get his hands on. At 16 turns he was searched but failed to impress. He was initially disappointed and has stood for four more clutches in which he has also not succeeded.

He now views his return to the Weyr to stand for a new clutch as a means for a break away from his journeymanship, almost as a vacation. He is looking forward to attending the hatching feast and celebrations as he doesn't hold much hope of finding his other half this time either. He also manages to find solace in a flask of wine and the warm bed of a greenrider when the feast is over and the sands have emptied.

He is older now, and knows this is his last chance to stand for a dragon. He isn't lying to himself and doesn't really expect to Impress. If the truth were known he is already planning on returning to Cliffside Hold shortly after the Hatching. Where he will then continue on with his life without his youthful hopes and dreams of becoming one of Pern's Dragonriders.

At the last Hatching he was allowed to attend as a candidate he finally found his other half of his soul. When the brown came up to him he didn't believe for a second, having really believed that couldn't happen to him, not after standing four times before. But it did, and the new weyrling pair worked their way through training doing well with each other.

Personality: He likes to take his time making up his mind on some things, but once his mind is set you can't  change it. He is very curious about anything new. He wants to know what it is, how it works, what it is used for, and why they need it? He loves to listen to music, namely O'ren working with his drums. When the Brownrider is lost in his music, you will find Mantioth's tale tapping out the beat to his riders actions.
