Personality: Amarilla is not very shy, though the new places made her a bit disorientated. She was brought up in a traditional Hold family where such values as proper behaviour, family bonds and social rules were considered important and she always followed them. Last time, after coming to the Weyr, she started to realise her own feelings, which was first shocking to her. She is still troubled by her discovery and feels quite at loss, but she is starting to accept herself.

Background: Born and brought up in Lisend Hold, Amarilla had childhood and education typical for a traditional family. She liked   the handwork she was taught by her mother, though the rest of housekeeping didn’t interest her. She got really interested in clothing after a Gather she attended as a teenaged girl, where she saw some dressed up ladies. She could spend hours observing people and then drawing the dresses, feeling specially inspired by one of the Lordholder’s daughters.

At the age of 14 Amarilla decided to try to get accepted to the Weaver’s Craft as there she found possibility to develop her interests. Her parents weren’t really happy about that idea, not much accepting women’s professional activity, but finally allowed her as she was anyway too young for a marriage. She loved the work from the beginning, even when she was learning and doing the most simple things.

After two Turns she was transferred to Nerat Hold to continue her craft education. That was a thing her parents didn’t accept, but of which the girl was only glad. For it proved she was now Craft’s subordinate. She felt relief because of that for her parents started to prompt her she should leave the Craft and start to think about getting married. She had no intention of abandoning what she loved so much and besides never met a man she would find interesting.

At Nerat Hold she quickly befriended Mandina, a young Journeywoman. Rilla learned lot from the other woman and liked her a lot, though there were moments she felt just strange in her company.

It wasn’t long after her arrival to the Hold that the shakes happened, their region was mostly   undisturbed, but they lost contact with the other Holds practicing their Craft as well as with their Master, who was away for a visit. It was almost two Turns later that some contact was re-established and the Craft re-organised. In consequence Amrilla was send to Free Falling Weyr. She was leaving her friend with aching heart, but she would never argue with Craft authorities.
