Chore Groups The (A) after a name means the persona is adoptable. Group One: Candidate Diedra (A), Candidate Kisena, Weyrling J'lando Group Two: Weyrling C'lix, Candidate Anaiya, Candidate Rika (A) Group Three: Candidate Darvah, Weyrling Rothyn (A), Candidate Meira Group Four: Weyrling C'rik, Weyrling C'lef, Candidate Mathis (A) Group Five: Weyrling Paswyn, Candidate Shaveya (A), Candidate Sticen Group Six: Weyrling Niory, Weyrling Arabella, Weyrling D'mien (A) Group Seven: Candidate Hakai, Weyrling Amygdala (ONPC), Weyrling S'arak Group Eight: Candidate Onora, Weyrling A'tal, Weyrling A'sri Group Nine: Candidate Valron (A), Weyrling K'vika, Weyrling Sedra Chores Laundry:
This includes gathering and sorting laundry, doing whatever chores the
laundry headwoman assigns, gathering materials and making soap for
laundry purposes. You will also learn how to remove oil stains from
clothing, and how to clean leather and other non-washables. Mending:
This chore duty is an extension of the laundry duty. When on this chore
assignment, Weyrlings and Candidates are responsible for tending to all
torn clothing. Those that show an aptitude for it might also be assigned
to simple tailoring tasks of new clothes. Runners:
This entails running whatever errands that the Weyrleader, Weyrling
Master, Weyrwoman, or Wingleaders assign. It also extends to any errands
set by any of their seconds. When on this chore duty, a Weyrling or
Candidate is essentially a gopher for the sevenday. Healer’s
Helpers: A sevenday assigned to the healer’s can include a variety of
activities. Cleaning bedpans, organizing shelves, and sweeping the floor
and other general cleaning are all common tasks. Those on this chore
duty answer to any of the journey or master level healers. Dragon
Healer’s Helpers: Very similar to working with the healers, activities
can include cleaning out the water buckets or removing waste. Again,
those on this chore duty answer to any of the journey or master level
dragon healers. Kitchen:
This includes gardening duties, food gathering, and fishing/hunting
(older weyrlings only, who show an aptitude or have experience).
Weyrlings will do whatever related tasks are assigned by the headwoman
and/or Cook. Weyrlings are also on service duty. In the event of a feast
or other special occasion, ALL weyrlings may be pressed into service
duty. Latrines:
Cleaning weyr bathing rooms and necessaries. This is not simply cleaning
these facilities, but also stocking the bathing room and necessary
supply rooms, making soap, whitewashing walls, doing general repair. Beast
Helpers: You will report to the beast crafter and do whatever chores
assigned, including but not limited to cleaning, herding, shearing,
milking, making tack, brushing runners, cleaning and oiling saddles and
other gear, feeding beasts, etc. Those who show aptitude may be assigned
to the beast healers instead. Clean
Barracks: This includes cleaning the shared barracks rooms (of both the
Candidates and Weyrling Barracks), general maintenance and repair. In
the Weyrling barracks, you will bring bedding changes in for each dragon
pair, although individuals are responsible for doing their own actual
changes. Barracks duty includes gathering laundry, sweeping, dusting,
sorting gear, cleaning classrooms. EACH Weyrling is responsible for
his/her PERSONAL area and property, and for his/her dragonet. Each
Candidate is also responsible for his/her personal area and property. Clean Hearths/Policing Weyr Bowl: This involves fetching wood or black rock as needed to kitchens or individual weyrs, carrying away ashes, cleaning fireplaces, tending fires, and cutting wood or bagging fuel stone as needed. These chores also include general cleanup and simple maintenance, assisting repair crews, doing stock and inventories as requested, assisting crafters in general maintenance, moving goods within the weyr.
