She normally has a sad, far-away look to her when she's alone.
She has a biting temper that is quick to flair and will take on
anyone, any size. When her
anger has worked it's way through her system though, she practically
forgets about whatever it was that has happened.
She is friendly to just about everyone, but she likes to be
alone. She's closest to her
oldest sibling, J'yan, even if they were only a few minutes apart.
She loves to sing and play instruments, though she's had no
formal training, she has a talent for the Harper Craft. Background: Born one of four children of the former Weyrleader of Free Falling Weyr, J'lando, and his greenrider mate, Ryan, she knew love from the moment she was born. She was a happy baby and the light of her father's eye. Within months of their births though, a tragedy happened. During the flight of Senior Queen Kilenanth, Sulleth, J'lando's bronze was killed while trying to protect her from another rising queen. Her father, now only half a man, tried to follow his lifemate into death, but Ryan's family stopped him, knocking him out. After he awoke he tried once more, but was stopped. He ended up running out of the Weyr, going off on his own. Her mother sunk into a worried depression, her green, Dodgeth, mourning the loss of her mate as well. One night Jahlando returned, staying for a few days, but he was in constant pain, being surrounded by dragons in the Weyr. When he left again, Ryan and Dodgeth followed Sulleth into the nothingness of between. With their youth, there was some disagreement over who would take care of them. Finally her Uncle R'andy took them through time to the past, to a remote Cothold, a fishcraft hold. She grew up surrounded by the love of her family and was protected as much as they could. She knows all about her father, but not much about her mother. As she grew up, she and Jayan became inseparable. He apprenticed as a Fisher, so she did too, though her talent was really in Harpering. One day, after they'd had their sixteenth birthingday, R'andy's brown dragon, Ranth, told them all that they would impress if given the chance. R'andy packed them all up and returned with them to Free Falling Weyr, a mere few days after they'd disappeared so while sixteen turns had passed for the five of them, almost no time had passed for those still at the Weyr. After returning to Free Falling Weyr she and her brothers were presented at a hatching and all four of them impressed. The love she’d had her whole life would continue in the constant presence of Dosuleth. Outside of her normal duties not much has happened to her since her impression until the earthshakes that destroyed half of Pern. Life has been more hectic and crowded since then as those dragons and riders that were left have crowded into the three remaining Weyrs. There was a bit of an issue concerning her best friend and roommate, Arimil, when not only she, but all three of her brothers ended up sleeping with her. Her friend believing that all three boys were one and the same. Dyan watched as her friend fell for her brother Ry'ndo, but could see his confusion over it all and so he pushed her away. At about the same time her father returned to her life, wishing to make sure that they were all safe after the shakes. He still wasn't the same man that he'd been before his loss, but he was better, he'd dealt with his loss finally. He ended up impressing a brown from the stands and now her father is the only person to re-impress. One morning while talking with her father she came together with Jal'yn and Ry'ndo and discovered that their mother had a long-lost twin that noone even knew about, even the twin.
