Name: Fyodor

Played by: Kay

Pronounced: fee-OH-dor

Nickname: Fritz, which he tells everyone is his real name. It serves as both his nickname and his alias.

Sex: male

Rank: drudge

Age: 17

Birthplace: Lemos Hold

Mother's Name, rank, location: Darrina, Lady Holder, Lemos Hold

Father's Name, rank, location: Fyoran, Lord Holder, Lemos Hold - deceased

Siblings: sister Farian, 19; brother Fyanor, 15; sister Dorra, 14; sister Yanni, 11

Significant others: Darsha (f), 16, holder, Lemos Hold; Keiv (m), 21, holder, Lemos Hold

Children: son Fyasha, 3 months, Lemos Hold

Height: 5’5”

Build: Willowy and lean, Fyodor is a mere wisp of a boy. His long legs make him a very fast runner, but he is not very physically strong.

Hair color/style: Fyodor's hair, a dull auburn-red, is silky and long, falling down between his shoulder blades or tied back in a loose tail.

Eyes: Greenish-grey, like a turbulent sea, alive with mischief or critical disdain.

Complexion: Fair and freckled.

Anything you feel would help describe your persona better: Fyodor dresses like a bandit, in mismatching clothes of ragged quality. He tends to wear loose, open tunics too large for him, patched breeches that fall to his shins, and sandal-like shoes that slip on easily over his feet. You'd be hard-pressed to miss the short dagger that hangs at his waist. He wears a collar of plated gold, concealed by a tattered scarf, which he filched from his father's trunk after Lord Fyoran was killed. It is the only thing of value he owns.

Habits: Fyodor chews his fingernails when he is bored. His incredibly aloof attitude tends to keep people at a distance, and the frequent raising of a skeptical eyebrow makes it quite clear that Fyodor knows better than you what he is talking about.

Hobbies: Fyodor's hobbies are few, and mostly he simply enjoys stirring up a little mischief or keeping to himself and busying himself with writing. He fancies himself a clever lyricist for love songs, but no one besides himself, Darsha, and Keiv have ever seen his inventions. On occasion he takes up practicing one instrument or another, hoping to play music for his lyrics, but such occupations rarely last for long.

Personality: There is no better word to describe Fyodor than "rebellious", and his roguish streak is tinged with all the arrogance of a healthy ego. Fyodor is a young man seemingly always in control of everything going on around him. Cool, casual nonchalance marks his air. Self-doubt is simply not a word in his vocabulary. He is very well educated and intelligent, and nothing delights him more than taking advantage of lesser minds to achieve his own ends. When he lies (which is often), it is with ease and fluidity, as he has been well-practiced in the art since an early age. More than anything, Fyodor loathes commitment to any one being or place, and he owns so little that he considers his own that he is able to pack up and move from one place to another as if he is doing nothing more than batting an eye. He is also a highly sensual young man, easily captured by a pretty face or an attractive body, be it female or male. He believes himself to be devilishly good looking, in a petite and waifish sort of way, and a decent number of men and women would agree with him.

Background: The heir to Lemos Hold, Fyodor never wanted his title. Even as a toddler, he was forced to wear stuffy outfits, attend formal Gathers, and parade in front of adoring lords and ladies like some kind of spectacle. Fyodor hated every moment of it, and by the time he was nine Turns old he was wishing desperately that he would soon have a baby brother who could take over as the heir of Lemos for him. Unfortunately, when that brother finally arrived, complications during his birth permanently crippled the babe, leaving young Fyanor completely paralyzed from the waist down and sickly throughout his life. An embarrassment to the family, Fyanor was kept locked in his room throughout childhood, not permitted to act as a member of the noble family of Lemos Hold. He was never mentioned by his parents or siblings--except by Fyodor, who took a liking to his sickly little brother. Fyodor hated his sister Farian, on the other hand, because of her snobbishness and self-importance. She hated Fyodor in return because as a male heir he automatically succeeded their father before she did even though she was older.
When Fyodor was sixteen, the shakes struck the Northern Continent. All of the Lemos Hold noble family survived, except for Fyodor’s aunt and a cousin. Then Lemos suffered tragedy when a band of half-starved marauders took Lord Fyoran hostage.  Lemos, brought to its knees by the devastation wrought by the shakes, was unable to pay the ransom, and Fyodor’s father was killed in retaliation. Since then, Lady Darrina has locked herself in her room, confined to her bed out of sickness of heart. Fyodor’s uncle-by-marriage, Ketar, is now acting regent. Fyodor, though of age to take the Lord Holdership, has insisted upon waiting until the advent of the Turn anniversary of his father’s death before inheriting his rightful title. In truth, Fyodor merely wishes to delay his succession as long as possible. Time, however, is beginning to run out as the anniversary approaches. If his sister Farian has her way, she will be married to the widower Ketar and officially made the blood heir of the late Lord Fyoran.
In the Turn following the shakes, Fyodor began hunting desperately for some distraction from his insufferable family. For this he found Darsha, a young and willing holderess with whom he swears he is in love, although even he in unsure whether or not it is truly love or just lust. Darsha soon gave him a son, whom she named Fyasha in honor of the babe's father. Fyodor also stumbled into a tentative physical relationship with Keiv, the son of Fyodor's uncle Ketar but not his blood cousin. Both of Fyodor's significant others were secret lovers, as he knew that he would be disowned if they were revealed and he was not yet through with manipulating his family to serve his purposes.
One day a brown rider from Ista Weyr Searched him by accident while he was sneaking back through Lemos Hold after a visit to see Darsha and his son. After hardly a moment's hesitation, Fyodor accepted the Search--but he told the brown rider that his name was Fritz. Lying by saying that his family was all dead and that nothing tied him to Lemos, "Fritz" was taken back to Ista Weyr, hoping never to return to his birthplace ever again. Though he would miss Darsha, his son, Keiv, and his brother Fyanor, he was far more desperate to get out of the entangling web of politics surrounding Lemos. Leaving without a farewell was his way of getting revenge on his family--better to leave them in panicked chaos than give them the satisfaction of knowing where he was. Later, the brown rider who Searched Fritz transferred to Free Falling Weyr, and Fritz decided to transfer with him, half-way across the continent from his home.

PET information:

Name: Djinn

Age: 2 Turns

Color: green

Species: flit

Personality: The offspring of Marne, a green flit belonging to Fyodor's father, Djinn possesses a bearing more fitting for a queen than a lowly green. Though as frolicky and playful as any flit, when enflamed she commands majesty and poise surprising in so tiny a creature. Djinn is furiously protective over her master and is the most trustworthy pet Fyodor could as for, bearing his messages without fault and trained to act in secrecy if called upon. Djinn is also the loyal mate of Virdan, a brown flit owned by Fyodor's lover Keiv, and now that she is no longer around him she sometimes feels lost and confused. Nevertheless, Djinn follows Fyodor wherever he goes and rarely leaves his side.
