He does still keep a knife in each boot and a belt knife on the right side of his belt. He also now wears a necklace that had belonged to his weyrmate. It is a chain with a small round medalion with a dragon embossed on it. Also on the chain is a ring that had been his grandmother's that he'd given to Ryan. Eyes: Midnight blue Hair, Length: Shaggy brown hair that tends to fall in his eyes – It hangs to mid-back Clothing/ style: Whatever clothing his hands come into contact he'll put on. Without planning it or trying he tends to dress somewhat stylish. Hobbies: Occasionally he'll play his guitar, though it's normally a melancholy song that he plays. Habits: When he’s alone he has a bad habit of dwelling on his lost dragon. This sinks him into a funk for a while, until Suth or Grally breaks him of it. Personality: He used to be a bit serious although he had a ready sense of humor. He has recovered, for the most part. Though he’s not nearly his former self, you can see moments of it occasionally. When he’s with Suth or his children you can really see the man he was and is. History: Since both of Jahlando's parents are dragonriders, he was fostered almost immediately. He always knew who his parents were and they visited often. They were disappointed that his older brothers hadn't become dragonriders themselves. Fortunately he impressed and they've doted on him ever since. It was tough being a weyrling whose parents were always stopping in, but finally he had enough and got into a big argument with them. They backed off a bit. It helped even more when his younger sister impressed. When the opportunity to transfer to Free Falling Weyr came up, he jumped at the chance. Maybe here he could make Weyrleader. Due to Weyrleader R'tor stepping down J'lando was moved to Acting Weyrleader until Kilenanth's next Mating flight decides who the Weyrleader will be. He met a woman, Ryan, a fellow rider, and the pair quickly fell in love. They've had their good times and their bad, though they were stuck in the bad for some time. Ryan discovered that she was pregnant and she carried their child. At birth it was discovered that not only were they parents, but of four babies. They struggled with giving them over to foster parents, but with their responsibilities to their dragons and his responsibility to his position, and the fact that they wouldn't sleep at the same time, they were able to give the children over to foster parents. He grew to know his sister better, his own brother-in-law weyrmating with her. She had two children of her own, twins. On the first anniversary of the opening of Free Falling Weyr there was a gather and during that gather Kilenanth took flight, sending almost every male dragon after her. Sulleth knew how much his rider wanted to stay Weyrleader, he also wanted Kilenanth for himself this time so he followed her as best he could. Another gold rose while nearby and the two fought. In an effort to protect his queen, Sulleth interposed himself between the two queens, becoming hurt in the process. The bronze was injured so badly that he betweened then and there, leaving his rider on the ground. J'lando was stunned and sought to follow his lifemate to oblivion, but was stopped by Ryan and her family who knocked him out for a while. When he awoke the moment was past, though he still longed to join his lifemate. He left the Weyr, wandering aimlessly, returning a couple of sevendays later. It was too soon and he left once more, wandering from place to place. Those that recognized him gave him shelter and food, those that didn’t could see that something was wrong and took pity on him. He made his way north to visit his family. He had just left his parents and brothers in High Reaches Weyr when the earthshake happened. He first checked on his close family, but discovered them all gone. He then began to make his way to Free Falling Weyr, needing to know that Ryan and his children were safe. When he returned many things had changed and many stayed the same. One of the things that had changed was that Ryan was dead. He learned that she betweened after his last leaving and this saddened him greatly, but at the same time he was able to meet his children. After he and Ryan were both gone his brother-in-law, R’andy, had taken the children between to the past and they’d been raised at a family cothold. He came back to find his four little ones were all grown up and riders themselves. He had just begun to get to know them when a hatching occurred. He sat watching with them, remembering his Sulleth, when a young brown tried to reach someone in the stands. He tried to help the little one find his lifemate only to discover that the brown was searching for him. He suddenly found himself re-impressed and now a weyrling once more. Suth is all he could’ve hoped for in a new lifemate, had he ever entertained the idea of impressing again. He's found himself distanced from the other weyrlings as he is significantly older than them, though he's found a friend in the Weyrlingmaster, M'quel, who'd been the Weyrleader at Southern the same time he'd been Weyrleader at Free Falling Weyr. He's growing closer to his kids, Dyan and Ry'ndo especially. J'yan though, has distanced himself from him. It has been discovered that his Ryan has a twin, Rianna, though the woman didn't know anything about it. Seeing her made him break down the day he met her, thinking that his Ryan had come back to him. Dragon Information: Name: Suth Color: Dark Brown Size: He’s still quite young so he’s yet to grow into his size. Description: He’s a very dark brown with many light bronze swirls through his wings, across his head, down his tail and over his legs. Personality: He is very much the young dragon that he is, though he periodically shows signs that are reminiscent of Sulleth. Age: months Where Impressed: Free Falling Weyr Name: Sulleth , deceased Color: Light Bronze Size: 38 ft. body size with a wingspan of about 63 ft. Description: He is the same shade of bronze all over his entire body. Personality: He was a bit more lighthearted than J'lando and tried to lighten his rider up a bit. Age: 12, deceased Where Impressed: High Reaches Weyr Pets: Name: Grally Breed: Firelizard Sex: Female Age: 5 Color: Gold Personality: She was bossy, even to Sulleth. After the loss of Sulleth she became withdrawn, never leaving Jalando’s side for any reason. She hasn’t even risen since then. As Jalando recovered, so did she, though she still hasn’t risen. With the addition of Suth to their little band she has regained her bossiness, becoming a bit of a mother hen to the young brown.
