Personality: Janery is bossy and tough. She grew up ordering her brothers about and continued that into adulthood. Because she had two older brothers, she can win most fights and isn't afraid to confront others. She's private to the point of being non communicative. Very few know very little about her. She doesn't like to share, but isn't really selfish either. She has a very short temper and it doesn't take much to set her off. Look at her funny and you are liable to get a fist in your face.

Background: Janery grew up at Keroon Hold with her family. She was a precocious child, into everything and constantly after her two brothers. She loved to listen to Keryjan play his instruments, but didn't like sharing him with the other hold children. She cried all night the day he left for Keroon Harper Hall, until her mother pointed out that he was just across the way and why was she crying anyway?

As Janery had no talent in harpering, she followed her other brother's footsteps into beasthealing. While she was an apprentice, Jarnis was a journeyman. She was there, at 15 turns, when Keryjan walked the tables and became a Journeyman Harper. She was very proud of him, as she was for Jarnis when he made Journeyman. She knew when she became an aunt, especially after Keryjan fostered his son to their mother. She helped all she could with the little boy. She knew when Keryjan was searched, but was occupied with a birthing herdbeast and did not get the chance to say goodbye.

Two months later, she herself was searched, by a Telgar bluerider. She went immediately, hoping against hope that Keryjan was at Telgar Weyr. He wasn't, but since Janery impressed to green Canleth, she had no choice but to stay. Once she graduated, she planned on seeing her family at Keroon Hold and looking for Keryjan, where ever he might be. Allash had been searched with her, and impressed to brown Korandath. Their weyrlinghood was rocky, as they had unfortunately, done a prank on the Junior Weyrwoman (that would be Myrin, guys), and had midden duty for a fortnight. Janery learned to hate the woman, and pulled A'lsh into every trick in the hide to discredit the woman. Sometimes, her little ploys worked too, and the Weyr soon didn't like the woman either.

On the eve of their graduation, chaos ensued. The ground began to rock violently as the shakes reached Telgar. The walls of the Weyr came tumbling down around their ears, and Janery, A'lsh in tow, ran for her green. She watched in horror as many died, but what froze her heart was the exit of every leader that Telgar had. Bronzes took off in every direction. The Weyrleader, Tr'eno and Weyrwoman Shanria were no where to be found. Janery could only assume they cowardly left the Weyr like the others, or had died under the rubble. She saw the broken body of one of the Junior Weyrwomen's golds, but knew it wasn't Julinath. Shouting for A'lsh, she had Canleth launch into the air. From the side of her vision, she thought she saw a bright yellow mote in the sky, heading away from the devastated remains of their home. Not really knowing what to do, she and A'lsh headed west, trying to find help. All they found was more devastation, and getting worse the further they went. Finally reaching the rubble that was High Reaches, they landed. Janery, her heart torn from her, sobbed for hours. When she couldn't cry anymore, she slept, for days it seemed like.

Needing something to do, and knowing her beloved green needed to eat, she and A'lsh began to raid the surrounding areas for food and medicinals. It didn't take long for the local holders to realize what was happening and they soon put out guards to stop the two dragonriders. As Janery and A'lsh ranged ever further from High Reaches, they came across other riders that had become refugees. Together, they formed a band, both for survival and protection. Once, more out of curiosity than anything, Janery made her way back to Keroon Hold. Keeping out of sight, she saw her brother, Jarnis going about his business as if nothing had happened. Janery was livid and never returned to the Hold.

Now, as the holders are alerted to them, they are getting more and more desperate for food.
