Habits: Gesticulating with whatever utensil she has in her hand. Slapping the hand of any rider, candidate, weyrling, WL, WW… well anyone attempting to sneak a fresh baked treat without permission. Coercing people to eat whenever she deems it necessary for them to do so. Hobbies: Cooking, she loves to cook and bake and create. She also has a sturdy runner that she takes out for a ride on her days off… when these rare events occur. A throw back to her days as a trader brat. Personality: Larasella possesses a quick mind and is a shrewd judge of character. She possesses all the qualities necessary in a Head Woman, she's well organized, a proficient diplomat and can make one red fruit feed an entire Weyr over a whole week if push comes to shove. She's good with names and faces and doesn't forget one. She loves a good toe tapping tune at a gather and is often one of the most graceful dancers on the floor when she has the chance to escape her duties to take a turn. She flirts in a kindly way with the lads who catch her attention and is always careful to handle any intimate female issues with the rider or woman concerned, with the utmost respect and discretion. She expresses her love and concern in whatever she does or dictates, even when the kind of love she has to dish out is that which she deems tough love. She keeps her cool through most difficulties, however she'll snap a sharp remark whenever things get a little too much for her. However she is the mother of the Weyr and ensures all her "children" even the ones twice her age are well fed, well dressed, happy and occupied. All who fall under her command are subject to some of the most creative punishments which she loathes dishing out, however she realizes this is for the best. Background: Larasella was born to a Trader family and grew up on the road. There she learnt skills, which enhanced her shrewd eye and keen ability to make the most of what she had. She left her Trader life after falling for a Brown rider, G'sal and was quickly put to work at Ista Weyr where G'sal had impressed his brown Eariath turns earlier. There Larasella soon adapted to Weyr life and her natural caring and assertive manner and her organizational abilities were soon put to good use for the Weyr. The couple sprouted a small family with the birth of a son and daughter. With Larasella's burgeoning responsibilities, G'sal thought it would be for the best to foster their six turn old son to his own foster brother's care. Their eldest, a daughter was apprenticed to the healer hall soon after. The brown rider and his wife were transferred to Free Falling Weyr upon its opening, and Larasella was one of the many weyrfolk to help set up the new Weyr. With no children of her own to fuss over now, Larasella winded up in the assistant head woman position. Then her loneliness was compounded when G'sal was killed during fall. An extensive clump wounded both dragon and rider. The pair didn't make it through between and was lost to the abyss forever Turns later, FFW tragically lost their headwoman during the recent Pern quakes and without any time for ceremony Larasella took up this role and is only now getting used to her new position. Larasella still mourns the loss of her weyrmate but expresses her love for him through her nurturing and care taking of the Weyr as a whole. She is painfully aware of the price anyone of the riders make for the safety of Pern and ensures that they always have the best of what is on offer to honor their sacrifice and the sacrifice of her weyrmate. She will curl up and stay like that while hers is doing hide work. But when her pet is working, she is on her pet's shoulder, watching what is going on. She is very obedient and is quick to scold any worker that is not doing what they should. She is just as flirtatious as a green when she is about to rise. She is overly protective when she has a clutch. Helpful and loyal, though she tends to over help and become a nuisance.
