Personality: M'quel is a fun loving man. He loves to flirt with all women, be they pretty or not. He does not have a very fast temper, but will fight dirty when he loses it. Like most dragonriders he is an honest man. He loves to pull practical jokes and has a keen sense of humor. He can be very stubborn with some issues. Most of the time, however, he is an easy-going man, well liked, and generous to a fault. He is a very good man to have as a friend and will go out of his way to help a friend in need. He is also devoted to his duty and his family.  He does take his position quite seriously and will go to great lengths to help any of his charges.

Background: M'quel was raised as a weyrbrat and had a typical life there. He was often into trouble because of the pranks he played all the time. He is very close to his mother. His father he knew, but from a distance only. He often did things to try to get his father's attention, but it never worked and he finally gave up after his mother sat him down and talked with him about it. Bitter for a while, he grew quiet for a few months. But his normal personality soon came back and he was back to his good ole self, full of mischief and pranks. His father finally acknowledged him after he impressed his bronze at age 13, but by then M'quel had no time for him. His father died soon after he impressed.

M'quel fell in love with a greenrider that came to Southern Weyr, though Neva loved another. He met Resinal then and though he still loved Neva, he asked Resinal to be his weyrmate. He did love Resinal, but Neva as well and it caused some problems in their relationship. It was soon discovered that his weyrmate was pregnant. She gave birth to two lovely babies, a boy and a girl, and he dotes on them.

He has felt a strain on his relationship with his weyrmate, Resinal, and though he loves her, he didn't feel comfortable staying mated with her so he broke off the relationship. When her green rose next, Odath caught her, but their reunion was very short lived.

He ran the Weyr as best he could, with Malae's help. He had appointed bronzerider J'air as his Weyrsecond, but for some reason he became distracted and didn't perform his duties. At Pheonath's next flight Odath lost. To M'quel's surprise, the new Weyrleader asked him to be his Weyrsecond. Things seemed to get better and better as he helped out with the Weyr, but wasn’t directly in charge. He preferred to help others rather than be the point man. He also had more time to spend with Kirsha and the pair soon found themselves enamored with each other.

Things were going great until the Weyrleader died in a freak accident, putting him in charge again.  The Weyr prospered.  He had his Kirsha, his kids and his friends and he was happy.  During the next raising of the senior queen once more he lost, unfortunately Kirsha wasn’t there and in his flight lust he ended up with Resinal once more.  Jealous over the incident things with Kirsha went downhill.  No longer the Weyrleader he instead took over the Weyrlingmaster post.  He was asked to come and act as temporary Weyrlingmaster at Free Falling Weyr as his current batch of weyrlings at Southern Weyr were well into their training.  His assistant could take over until his return.

After coming north he became entrenched in catching the weyrlings at Free Falling Weyr up to speed.  He impressed the leadership there and asked to stay.  At first he was very overworked, getting no time to spend with his little ones, but after bringing in an assistant he was less stressed out.
