Habits: wakes up quite early, is used to quite warm climate 

Hobbies: likes playing musical instruments and singing, but is not good at it so she never lets anyone hear her, believing they would laugh at her. likes reading 

Personality: Milanna doesn't have a strong personality. She is very shy and it is not easy for her to talk first to the people she doesn't know. Even with those she knows she's not talkative, listening more than speaking herself. She is not very sociable and was used to being a bit apart from other (in fact sometimes she really wished to be left alone).

In consequence of her strict upbringing, she is very obedient and never complains about orders she is given. She has a strong sense of duty.  

Background: Milanna's mother - Karina came to Ista Weyr as a Candidate. There were no eggs yet, but the dragon that Searched her, believed she really had a good personality. She soon met M'lon and they became a couple. Occupied by her Candidate's chores and excited when the queen finally raised young girl didn't notice any changes.  Besides being brought up in a Hold she had no idea of the meaning of "short ride between". The consequence was that she wasn't allowed to stand for the Hatching. Without the Threads the Hatching weren't too frequent and when the next took place she was too old to be a Candidate.  

Even though Milanna lived with her parents, her father paid very little attention to her and her mother treated her very strictly. She had quite good relations with her siblings even though it was visible their mother treated them in a different way than the eldest daughter. It was much later that the girl understood she had ruined her mother's career as dragonrider.  

This kind of treatment and work with her bossy mother, didn't help at all to overcome Milanna's natural shyness, on the contrary it made it even stronger. The girl liked helping in the records room, it was really calm there and gave her an excuse to get out of her mother's sight. She could have been working in the crèche instead of the kitchen, but she never felt good with children. 

Milanna always dreamt of dragons, but never dared to talk about it after being laughed at by other girls. She would never dream of Impression but wanted to have more contact with them. Unfortunately, Wronath, her father's blue, had similar attitude to children as his rider.  

When she became a teen-aged girl she not even an opportunity to watch a Hatching as the work in the kitchen was the most intensive in this time.

During one of Hatchings the Headwoman needed to pass a message to someone who was in the Hatching Grounds. She chose Milanna as the girls was always obedient and trustworthy.

But the message never reached its destination.  The girl tried to pass without disturbing anyone, but she couldn't help taking a glance at the eggs. Quite many of them were already empty and two blue dragons were looking for their lifemates. One chose quite quickly one of the boys, but the other still hesitated.  

Suddenly Milanna heard a voice calling her, she was completely surprised. it took her a while to notice that the blue was going towards her. Fortunately the Wyerlings Master quickly reacted helping her to take care of the hatchling really exhausted by waiting for his lifemate. 

Milanna and Moranth graduated with the rest of their class with quite good results even thought Milanna hadn't attended Candidates' classes and her shyness kept her a bit apart from other Weyrlings.  

All the time she avoided her mother as much as possible. She felt a bit lonely when her brother left the Weyr to join the Smith's Craft. She has never had any personal relationship. After the transfer to Free Falling Weyr she had a bit of problems to get to know new people. She felt better when her brother came there as a Candidate. 

An event that really changed her life was a mating flight of a newly arrived green.  Moranth didn't win and Milanna impulsively consoled herself with another looser - brownrider V'tero. That wouldn't be anything special, this kind of things had arrived to her earlier, but this time she became pregnant.  

Fortunately her unborn child survived a great amount of stress she had when Moranth became injured and one night at the beginning of autumn she gave birth to her daughter, causing a lot of distress to her dragon.

The bluerider named her daughter Vertanna, after both of parents as was the custom, but she was really disappointed that the girl's father didn't show any interest. A few months later V'tero died in a Fall, having never seen his child.

Personality: he is rather calm dragon, through not as shy as his rider. Sometimes it happens to him to behave in quite childish way (especially when he is in the water) making his rider ill at ease.

After the birth of Vertanna he is quite  jealous that his rider spends so much time with her Hatchling.
