Anything you feel would help describe your persona better:
Habits: R’tale can often be very demanding of those around him and has a hard time understanding the shortcomings of others even once he’s accepted them. He tends to anticipate problems before they arise and fixes them before they can.
Hobbies: Any free time R’tale gets he likes to spend with his family or his friends rather than working on any projects or plans. He enjoys taking his two children up on Sorendath and showing them different parts of Southern that they wouldn’t be able to access on their own. Fighting threadfall and leading his wing leaves him a lot to think about so when he makes time for those he wants to be with he likes to empty his mind and focus only on them.
Personality: Usually serious, R’tale seems unbreakable to most of those around him and when he’s leading his wing this is especially true. When at work there is literally nothing that could crack his cold and precise manner and heaven help anyone who dare waste his time with trying. During his few moments of free time, however, R’tale likes to let himself unwind and can often prove to be quite lively if there isn’t much going on. He enjoys debating things with his friends and is always very vehement in his defense of his beliefs. That is not to say he is closed minded, however, and he will sometimes be considering an opponents argument seriously while denying it altogether in what he says. R’tale is proud of his accomplishments and takes his duty as a wingleader and a dragonrider very seriously.
Background: Having grown up in Southern Weyr, R’tale was, from the beginning, a very dedicated and goal-oriented individual. With two parents with dragons, he planned on nothing but impressing one himself. He became a candidate in his own right at a fairly early age and got to watch as his older sister impressed her own dragon. This only served to increase his aspirations to be dragonrider and made the goal seem even more obtainable. As a candidate he spent a lot of time with R’nyl, though the two could never quite gain the attention of their younger brother. R’tale impressed a bronze dragon at the age of sixteen, making him the highest ranking member of their family. The whole family was especially proud of him and he loved the credit he received for being the first to impress a bronze. He dedicated himself to learning about the responsibilities of Wingleaders and Wingseconds, ambitious of becoming one himself. Sorendath would often drag him away from studying to spend time with he and the others they hung out with. Their graduation came more quickly than R’tale had expected and soon he was a part of a full wing. It wasn’t until he was twenty-four that he was appointed Wingsecond of his wing, but he had been fine waiting once it seemed that everything was paying off. Again he’d been the first in his family to reach this point. Around this time R’tale became weyrmated to Anetel, a greenrider in another wing. They had two children together, making the bronzerider happier than he’d have thought possible. When he’d been younger all he’d cared about was reaching the next level in rank and becoming more and more useful, but he saw with his children that there were other types of achievements. Often he would use spending time with his kids as a way to escape. Two years later after being made a Wingsecond, R’tale was promoted to wingleader. This new rank was a dream-come-true to the young bronzerider and he found he fully enjoyed working with the wing he had known so long. Hard word seemed synonymous with the job, a fact that only increased once thread began to fall once more. While at first his wing took a while to adjust, they quickly learned that he was a leader to be respected and gained a bond with each other and him through their hard work and tough fighting conditions. His free time was severely diminished by his new rank, however, eventually forcing him to set aside time specifically for spending with his family or his friends so that he could relax from the hard work of leading a fighting wing. When Taith caught the senior queen, making R’lyn Weyrleader, R’tale was just as shocked as anyone, if not more so. It seemed he’d underestimated his little brother, whom he’d always thought far too immature to amount to anything anytime soon. R’lyn had never amounted to much in R’tale’s eyes and he knew his brother felt the exact same way. Working together proved difficult at first, but the bronzerider quickly gained a newfound respect for his new Weyrleader. He was one of the first to accept R’lyn’s odd personality and way of doing things, despite their many and frequent arguments that continued well past this acceptance.
Dragon Information
Name: Sorendath
Age: 19
Color: bronze
Sire/Dame: Bronze Kaleth/ Gold Mareeth
Personality: A great peacekeeper and brilliant at calming others down, Sorendath always seems to have a cool head If his gets angry or frustrated, he’s one of the best at keeping the rider from acting on it. When he and his became leaders of their wing, Sorendath proved to be especially good at working with the other dragons to settle out disputes within the wing. The one thing that ruffles the bronze is when he believes someone he cares about isn’t being shown the respect they deserve. He has often been known to lay in places inconvenient for others to force a solution.
